Emmerdale viewers have been calling for Robert Sugden and Aaron Livesy to reunite – and it’s been confirmed the on/off lovers will give things another go.
Following Aaron’s heartbreaking childhood confession earlier this year, Robron fans took to Twitter to demand a happy ending for them.
Now Emmerdale executive producer Ian MacLeod has discussed the couple’s reconciliation, admitting it won’t be plain sailing.
Speaking to All About Soap, he explained: “I love Aaron and Robert as a couple – Robron is a real thing.
“They’re staying together, though it will be a bumpy road as it always is with Aaron.”
The doubled mechanic recently found his half-sister Liv – and Ian revealed she’ll caused problems for Aaron and Robert.
Ian continued: “Liv, Aaron’s sister, will challenge their relationship because she and Robert won’t get on and will be competing for Aaron’s affections.
Robert will clash with Aaron's half-sister Liv
“I want the viewers to see that Aaron can have a bit of stability ad happiness. Obviously Robert is a complicated character, and Aaron has a complicated story, but I want to put them together for a while to see what happens – they haven’t been a proper couple yet.”
Ryan Hawley, who plays Robert, recently opened up about the possibility of a Robron reunion.
He told Radio Times: “At the moment the relationship is very much about Robert supporting Aaron which I think is very nice as we are seeing a different side to Robert. It’s a rocky road – who knows where it will end?”
