Frozen is, without a doubt, one of the most popular Disney films of all time ever.

But, just like The Lion King and Bambi before it, the film is also laced with tragedy.

We’re not talking about Elsa and Anna’s parents going to a watery grave - although we can’t deny that their deaths left us blubbing.

Nope, we’re talking about the new theory that’s emerged about Kristoff and his reindeer BFF, Sven.

Taking to Reddit, eagle-eyed viewer SuperClaude1 wrote: “I'm probably slow but have only just noticed that in Frozen, Kristoff's coat is made from fur.

“And if you look closer at the pics the fur part seems to be reindeer. I don't think it can be wolf cos the pelt is too big.”

He continued: “That makes it a bit awkward, though, that Kristoff's best friend is a reindeer and he's actually wearing his skin.

“But in the context of the story, it all fits together.

“The ice harvesters must have killed Sven's mother, leaving a baby Sven for Kristoff to look after, and giving him the pelt to wear.”

And, as if that wasn’t upsetting enough, he added: “This explains why Sven is so close to Kristoff too, and why Kristoff still wears the same pelt.

“The smell reminds Sven of his mum.”

Plenty of users were left horrified by the theory - although many agreed with what SuperClaude1 had to say.

One even commented: “Think about it: Why else would a reindeer warm to a child that was wearing the skin of its own species?

“Sven sticks with Kristoff because he’s wearing the only thing that remains of his mother.”
