Yay!

After a fleeting appearance in EastEnders as Pat Butcher's ghost last months, where she reassured a dying Peggy Mitchell that everything will be okay – Pam St Clement has confirmed that she is coming back to BBC1.

Pam will guest star in a 30th anniversary episode of Casualty later this month, where she will play very grumpy patient Sally Hodge, who mistrusts everyone around her and gives Charlie Fairhead a hard time.

Hmmmm, sound familiar?

Speaking about her new role, Pam told The Mirror: “Put it this way, if Sally was walking down the same street as Pat Butcher, Pat would neatly sidestep on to the opposite pavement.

“She’s an unfortunate woman because of her emotional baggage and she doesn’t always come over as being very nice. But it was a nice complicated character to play – very condensed.”

We can't wait!

Pam, who joined EastEnders way back in 1986 and left for good in 2012, also revealed how she fills her days now she has a lot more free time.

“I spend as much time as possible seeing my godchildren in Australia,” she smiles. “That’s something I can do now which I couldn’t do before.”

The anniversary episode featuring Pam goes out on BBC1 on August 27.
