According to The Sun, Pam St Clement who played Pat Butcher in the BBC One soap will feature in Barbara Windor’s (Peggy Mitchell) last scenes.
Pat passed away shortly after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, in a New Year’s episode of EastEnders.
However, unlike several characters that have made it back from the other side like Den Watts (Leslie Grantham) and more recently Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Pat Butcher will reportedly reappear as a hallucination for Peggy.
Pat was also one of the longest-serving characters for the popular soap, having spent almost 26 years on the show.
Some of Pat’s biggest storylines have been with Peggy, including their feud and friendship over Frank Butcher.
An insider told the newspaper: “Viewers can expect lots of surprises for Peggy's final episodes. They are not to be missed and will go down in EastEnders history.”
It has been confirmed that Peggy will be reunited with her two sons Phil (Steve McFadden) and Grant (Ross Kemp) and daughter Sam (Danniella Westbrook) for her final episodes.
Ross Kemp confirmed his return through Twitter saying: “Have you ever tried saying no to Dame Barbara?!”
And this week, Barbara received her Damehood from the Queen, where Pam joined her to celebrate.
And Danniella told the Sunday Mirror: “I’m really excited to be going back to EastEnders. It feels right the Mitchells are all back for Peggy’s funeral, and I can’t wait to work alongside everyone again.”
