Hurrah! It’s almost that time of year again, when we get to curl up in front of the TV and watch our favourite on screen shows, actors and presenters get the praise they deserve for keeping us entertained over the last year.

And this year promises to be a good one with some exciting new categories added…. But it’s not all good, because naturally in order to make room for the new, some of the old had to be shifted.

For example, the award for Best Entertainment Presenter will now be axed – what will Ant and Dec do after a solid reign of 14 years at the top!? We bet winning one more time would be the icing on the cake.

Instead, Best TV Presenter will be added, so they could still be in the running. Although maybe it’s time to give someone else a go…

Other new categories include Live Magazine Show (so our favourite day time shows don’t miss out), and New Drama, which is exciting.

Maybe we will see shows like Poldark get more of a chance in the running to be awarded? But winners for Multichannel, TV judge and Chat Show Host wont be awarded. Boo! The NTAs are set to air air on January 20 from 7.30pm on ITV, and Dermot O’Leary will be presenting the ceremony for the 7th time. The categories and shortlist runners are as follows, and voting is open NOW:
