Strictly Come Dancing fans were hit by a big shock recently after Len Goodman announced he would be leaving the show after one last series this year.

He said in a statement: “This adventure began when I was 60 and now that I’ve reached my 70s, I’ve decided after this year it’s time to hand the role of Head Judge to someone else.”

Sob!

But since then, rumours have started about who will replace the lovely Len, with the two most popular names being professional dancers Anton Du Beke and Brendan Cole.

And now the legendary head judge himself has spoken out about who he would like to see replace him.

"It would be nice if Anton or Karen Hardy took over – someone from the world of ballroom rather than stage or theatre dancing,” Len told the Kent and Sussex Courier.

So as well as tipping fan favourite Anton, Len also believes professional dancer Karen would make a great judge too!

Who saw that coming?

"One more Strictly and then I will see what happens,” Len continued.

"At the end of the day I have been doing it for 12 years and I wanted to get out before people started saying, 'Get that old boy off'."

While the new judge has yet to be confirmed, there have been a few rumours about who will be in the celebrity line-up this year, too.

Amongst the names are Judge Rinder, TV presenter Laura Whitmore and singer Anastacia.
