It’s been a very tense week for fans of Aussie teatime soap, Neighbours.

After that shocking explosion at the Lassiter’s hotel, we’ve ALREADY been forced to say goodbye to two of our favourite characters.

Yup, long-standing Erinsborough residents Josh (Harley Bonner) and Doug Willis (Terence Donovan) lost their lives in the terrible tragedy.

And Neighbours bosses have already confirmed that we will be saying goodbye to one more popular character as they struggle to escape the aftermath of the hotel-turned-fireball.

The soap's producer Jason Herbison said ahead of the week of hell in Erinsborough: "Hotel Death Trap week might well be the biggest week of Neighbours ever."

He added: “Kicking off with an explosion at Lassiters Hotel, every episode sees brand new stories unfold, including shock returns, mysterious strangers, twists and turns aplenty and jeopardy for all our beloved characters. Tragically, by the time the dust settles, the death count will be up to three."

Things aren’t looking too good for Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan), are they?

However, as everyone at home knows, this was no accident; the explosion looks to have been caused by someONE, as opposed to someTHING.

And it seems as if the culprit will be exposed in an upcoming shock twist.

Matt Wilson, who plays the role of Aaron Brennan, told OK! Online: "We're still filming stuff right now which comes out in 3 months time which complicates the situation further.

"Eventually someone gets to the bottom of it but it's no where near what you would expect. You would not be able to pick it.

“I couldn't even pick it and I was reading the script."

However, the actor did let slip that his own on-screen alter ego could have been the one responsible for the explosion.

After all, we did see Aaron acting very strangely in the run-up to the blast - and he was in the vicinity of the hotel complex.

If Aaron is the one who caused the blast, however, Matt reckons it won’t have been done on purpose.

He told RadioTimes.com: “Aaron is definitely involved.

"There's a massive storyline that comes out of what Aaron was doing there and what he had on his mind… [but] he's not the type of person to do anything like that deliberately.”

Hmm.
