Xia Vigor has gone viral since her incredible impersonation of Taylor Swift's song You Belong With Me however her mum has defended her performance after people claimed her performance was inappropriate.
In January, seven-year-old Xia won over the world with her amazing performance of Taylor Swift's Grammy winning song after appearing on the Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids – a talent show of children in the Philippines.
Her performance has over 9million views and over 60,000 likes on Youtube. On stage she was confident and sassy however, her impersonation received a lot of back backlash. Many people pointed out the clothes and makeup she was wearing was inappropriate for a seven-year-old.
Xia's mum Christy Barnardo has hit back at the criticism on Good Morning Britain and revealed that she doesn't mind what people think because they don't know her as a person. She also added Xia only wears those clothes and makeup for the show and not on a normal day.
She told Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard: "I really don't mind the negative criticism because Xia is a very nice girl and I think it's only because it's the different culture, the show is made in the Philippines for the Philippine audience.
"We value family and love in this country and I think for people judging us I don’t really mind those criticism because I think it's a matter of respecting other people's culture."
Xia loves impersonating celebrities and told the presenters: "I am very happy because lots of people support me and lots of people in different countries watch me."
