Les Dennis is delighted with his Coronation Street character’s death.
Fans of the ITV soap were left saddened by the actor’s departure from the series but Les is pleased with the way his character Michael is leaving the cobbles.
He told fans he’d rather go out with a bang than have an storyline he doesn’t like.
Speaking in a video which was posted on Twitter, he said: “At least I’m not dying in an arm chair… or going out in the back of a taxi. It’s an amazing ending.”
He added: “Michael’s death is going to be another devastation for the Platts. They lost Callum, Kylie and now Gail has lost husband number six.
“I hope she’ll be devastated. I think Gail thought she found true love with Michael, but it’s another Gail warning unheeded.
“I’ve been here for two-and-a-half years and it’s flown by. It’s a show I’ve watched since a kid - back in the 1980s - and to be part of it is an absolute joy.
“I will miss everybody so much - it’s a family here. I hope to come back and visit. Michael can’t come back - unless he turns up in the shower and it was all a dream.”
Corrie fans saw Michael suffer a fatal heart attack during a confrontation with his nemesis Pat.
Two episodes aired on Friday night covering Michael’s horrific end.
Les wrote on Twitter after the episodes: “Overwhelmed by the reaction to Michael’s final scenes on Corrie. Thank you. So pleased he made an impact. Lexit.”
