Did people put up their Christmas decorations early for you to film the Christmas special?
Some of them did, some just went, ‘There are the decorations, put them up yourselves.’ That’s what I would do, although having said that, I quite like putting them up. It’s taking them down that’s the bind, int it?
Will you be wearing any special Christmas outfits for the show?
For the first house we filmed in, I wore a bit of Santa attire and in the next one, I was dressed as an elf so I made a bit of an effort.
Are you surprised at how many celebs allow you to nose around their houses on Through The Keyhole?
I am. I don’t know how we got Daryl Hannah for the first series. Maybe she didn’t know who I was? But luckily it’s turned out to be a big show with 6 million viewers on a Saturday night. And now they’ve seen it, they know I don’t go rooting through their knickers and stuff.

But you sometimes try their clothes on?
Yeah but I think it’s really interesting, trying on other people’s wardrobes. Normally, people will lock the door to rooms they don’t want me going in. If it’s a lady owner, she’ll normally say, ‘Don’t go in my knicker drawer.’ So if she doesn’t actually say that, I might have a little look.
Did you have any disasters during filming?
Yes, we had to replace a Christmas tree in one house because it accidentally caught on fire. But the owner won’t know that until they see the programme because the tree I replaced it with looked exactly the same.
Do you often break things in celebrities’ homes?
All the time. I’m like Mr Bean – I’m proper clumsy. But if I break anything, we always replace it. Yesterday, I put my head through someone’s ceiling. They had a basement office with a false ceiling and I stood up too quickly and my head went straight through it. The art department fixed it, though.
Whose house would you most like to look round? The Beckhams’ maybe?
Yeah, that would be amazing, wouldn’t it? But I’d also like to go to Nicole Shirtsinger’s house. She was on our Celebrity Juice X Factor Special. By the end of the show I was sucking her toes so I’d like to say I know her quite well now. I don’t have a foot fetish or ‘owt.
How will you be spending Christmas?
I’ll be with me mam and me brother. We’ll just have a lovely, humble Christmas at home watching Christmas Top Of The Pops while we’re eating our dinner. Then we’ll go to the club where me mam will get me to sign things for people. I’m happy to oblige. It’s nice that people like me.
What gifts are you hoping for?
I wouldn’t mind one of those PlayStation 4’s or one of those new X Box things that costs £400. I feel sorry for parents this year who’ve got to buy those consoles for kids. I mean, £400! At Christmas time, I do like to play Wii with me mam. That’s the only exercise I do ‘cos thankfully I’ve got good genes so I don’t need to go to the gym.
Will you be careful not to over-indulge?
Oh, I will over indulge then just before we start filming again, I’ll fast.
You’re pretty busy with two Christmas specials – Keyhole and Celebrity Juice?
Yes, plus I’m busy working on a film for next year that I can’t tell you about, then I’ll be promoting my Celebrity Juice DVD and Lemon La Vida Loca DVD. And did I mention I’ve got a calendar out? It’s quite sexy.

Do you have a Christmas message for Closer's website?
Beware of the Man Cold. Don’t drink too much so that you’re sick or you’ll be ashamed of yourself. Have a Merry Christmas and I suggest wearing fancy dress as it always helps impresses the ladies because they think, ‘Wow! He looks fun. I’d like to cuddle up with him under the tree!’
