EastEnders icon Kat Slater is known for her signature style, which usually consists of jet black shoulder-length hair, red lippie, boots and LOTS of leopard print. But it’s a different story for actress Jessie Wallace, who looks worlds away from her character in her latest Instagram snap.

Jessie recently unveiled a new look on social media as she showed off much shorter hair and glasses.

Alongside the snap, she wrote, “Rocking my new T-shirt from the coolest band @nimmonimmo and my new cut by the scissorhands magician @linocarbosiero ❤️.”

Fans showered Jessie with compliments, including one who wrote, “I love your new haircut and glasses! You look great!”

“Your hair looks beautiful x,” added another, while a third commented, “You look brilliant, love the new cut.”

Jessie's co-star Bobby Brazier (who plays Freddie Slater) is also a fan, branding his on-screen auntie a "rockstar".

Another of Jessie's followers had an important question as they asked, “Is Kat taking on this new look or will you be wearing a wig for her?”

Jessie has yet to respond.

Jessie Wallace's family

Back in March 2022, Jessie revealed that she’d become a grandma at the age of 50 after her daughter Tallulah, then 17, gave birth to a baby boy.

The actor took to Instagram to share an adorable snap of the newborn and shared his name for the first time.

Alongside the black and white photo, Jessie wrote, “Welcome to the world, my grandson SJ. You are loved, cherished and adored.”

The post was later removed from social media, but not before Jessie’s EastEnders co-stars could share their congratulations in the comments section.

Lacey Turner, who plays Jessie’s on-screen cousin Stacey Slater, commented, “Beautiful boy,” while Balvinder Sopal, who plays resident baddie Suki Panesar, wrote, “Congratulations.”

Another of Jessie’s followers told her she “don’t look old enough to be a nana yet”.

Who is Jessie Wallace's daughter?

Tallulah Lilac Morgan is the daughter of EastEnders star Jessie Wallace. She's 18 years old and lives with her mum at their London home. Talulah recently became a mum for the first time when she gave birth to baby boy named SJ.

Who is Jessie Wallace's husband?

Jessie shares Tallulah with her policeman ex, Dave Morgan, but they split when their daughter was just seven months old. Since then, Jessie has dated American toyboy Andy Burton and singer Tim Arnold.

The soap star was engaged to be married to catering boss Vince Morse, but she called off their wedding in 2011 after discovering that he'd sent sexts to an old flame.

Who is Jessie Wallace's sister?

Jessie has two younger sisters, Danielle Mason, and Joanne Harman, although they were caught up in a ten-year feud after Jessie snubbed them from her wedding guest list in 2011. Although the sisters managed to mend their rift, Danielle revealed they'd fallen out once again in 2019.
