Here’s everything you need to know about the gorgeous actress.

Early life

Jorgina Alexandra Porter, 27, was born on 25 December 1987 in Trafford, Greater Manchester.

Before wanting to be an actress, Jorgie had her heart set on being a ballet dancer – but was cruelly told she was too fat to be one.

Speaking previously to the MailOnline, she said: “I joined ballet school at 16, and for two years all the teachers told me to lose weight or I’d never be a dancer, or get a job. They used to ask me why I was big – did I drink a litre of cider every night?

“I would run into the toilets crying. My best friend Sophia was my rock. She would run in after me and tell me not to worry about it.”

Family

Jorgie was raised by her mum and gran, as her parents split shortly after she was born.

In the past she admitted she’s only met her dad Steve once – but she hopes he’ll reach out to her one day.

Recalling their one meeting at the school gates, Jorgie told Reveal: “He had his daughter with him on a little bicycle. I thought, ‘That must be my sister’. He chatted to my mum but didn’t say much to me. I was nervous and didn’t really know what to say.”

She added: “I hope he’s proud of me.”

Career

She's now one of the show's most popular characters

In 2008 Jorgie got her big break when she was cast as Theresa McQueen in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. At the time she said she was ‘thrilled’ to be joining one of the soap’s ‘most notorious families’.

After taking a break between October 2013 and April 2014, Jorgie returned – but in July 2015 it was confirmed she was leaving again. Reports after this suggested Jorgie had plans to break Hollywood.

Jorgie took part in the seventh series of Dancing on Ice in 2012. She was skating with Matt Evers and made it to the final, finishing in second place behind Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden.

She returned to the ice in 2014 for the ‘All Stars’ edition of DOI, but was voted on in the first week.

In November 2015 it was confirmed Jorgie was taking part in the 15th series of ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.

Relationships

When she was 20, Jorgie started seeing Tom Curle. They moved in together, but split two years later.

In 2011, Jorgie met James Atherton – when he auditioned for the part of Will Savage on Hollyoaks.

After they got together, Jorgie told Cosmo: “When James walked into his Hollyoaks audition 12 months ago, he grabbed my attention straight away. He got the part and we immediately gelled.”

Jorgie and James split last year but remain friends

Jorgie and James split in March 2014, but insist they’re still good friends.

In October 2015, Jorgie took part in the celebrity special of Channel 4’s First Dates for Stand Up To Cancer. On the show she enjoyed dinner with personal trainer Craig, 31, and it was reported afterwards that they had plans to see each other again.

But Jorgie later confirmed it hadn’t worked out between them. She said: “We went on one date and then after the Inside Soap Awards I went to a club with a few of the cast. He joined us later but that was it.”
