Hollyoaks fans have been waiting for Silas to come face-to-face with the one that got away ever since he arrived back in Hollyoaks.
And, later this month, it seems as if he will FINALLY trap Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) in his killer game.
As longtime fans of the soap will remember, Silas (Jeff Rawle) kidnapped a heavily-pregnant Mercedes back in 2011, holding her captive in the basement of The Dog in the Pond.
Why? Because she’d confessed to having an affair with Riley's father, Carl Costello (Paul Opacic), of course.
At the time, he demanded that her friends beat him at a game of chess if they ever wanted to find her alive - but they soon tracked Mercedes down, packing Silas off to prison with a single chess piece.
Now, however, he’s out of prison and teamed up with Lindsey Butterfield (Sophie Austin) - aka the Gloved Hand Killer AND Mercedes’s long-standing love rival.
It all spells bad news for Merc, doesn’t it?
Check it out:
A Hollyoaks insider told Digital Spy: "Mercedes was shaken for months after her last encounter with Silas and it sent her completely off the rails.
"Four years on, they're going head-to-head once again - but is Mercedes lucky enough to escape him for a second time?"
Judging from these scenes, it seems as if Mercedes has a chance at survival - if she can only prove her worth.
But, as they begin playing Silas’s favourite game, he soon spots a necklace around Mercedes's neck.
After the killer probes her about it, Mercedes reluctantly reveals that she wears it in order to remember her and Joe Roscoe’s baby son, Gabriel, who was tragically stillborn.
Will Silas show any mercy? Will he use the information to torment Mercedes further?
Or will Mercedes’s revelation go on to trigger something even more terrifying in Silas?
Either way, we DO know that Silas and Mercedes’s big showdown will lead to Lindsey’s final scenes.
Refusing to reveal TOO many juicy details, Sophie Austin said: “All I will say is I've been filming a lot with Jen Metcalfe and she has unfinished business with Silas.
"Whether it's the end of the road for Lindsay, you'll have to wait and see."
Hollyoaks airs these scenes on Wednesday, May 18 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
