It was the biggest whodunnit of 2015, with Hollyoaks fans stunned to learn that the Gloved Hand Killer was, in fact, Lindsey Butterfield.
But, despite viewers being well aware of Lindsey’s murderous streak, she has yet to be caught.
And, terrifyingly, she (and her hypodermic full of horrors!) is still at large.
In scenes set to air on 22nd January, however, Lindsey will begin to feel the heat when DS Thorpe (James Bradshaw) searches the hospital records for clues about the Gloved Hand Killer’s identity.
When he notices some potassium chloride is missing from the stock sheet, he immediately questions Lindsey about it - leaving her terrified.
Will the serial killer kill the police office in a desperate bid to hide her crimes?
Speaking with the Daily Star, Sophie Austin - who plays Lindsey - noted that there aare some "explosive storylines" planned for the 21st anniversary of Hollyoaks this year.
And, speaking about the next steps for her character with DS Thorpe still investigating the murders, she hinted that her character is prepared to do ANYTHING to protect herself.
"For her, it's all about self-preservation now and keeping sister Kim from spilling the beans. We start to see Lindsey unravel. Whether she can keep it together remains to be seen," the actress explained.
"I've been playing Lindsey for three years. It was a massive character change for me. I've been really lucky that her character before was the girl next door, but now Lindsey is sneaky and evil.
“I’m not a particularly big fan of hers anymore but, as an actor, it's amazing and a great opportunity."
Sophie added that she would love to see Lindsey get her comeuppance, insisting she’s “hurt too many people” to continue living life as a free woman.
Eep!
