It looks like John Paul McQueen hasn’t learned from his previous mistakes – as he’s developing a crush on his mum’s boyfriend!
Following on from his affair with cousin Porsche’s husband Lockie, it appears John Paul [James Sutton] will set his eyes on Myra’s hunky lover Diego.
In scenes set to air next week, he walks in on Myra [Nicole Barber-Lane] and Diego getting steamy but, instead of being horrified at catching his mother at it, John Paul seems to be jealous of her.
Viewers of the Channel 4 soap will know Myra hasn’t exactly been honest with Diego [Juan Pablo Yepe] since meeting him in Alicante, and the Venezuelan is under the impression the mouthy McQueen is the Countess of Chester.
But, when Diego starts getting broody, Myra is under even more pressure to keep up appearances as it’s revealed she also lied about her age.
With Myra’s lies set to cause trouble in paradise, John Paul leaves his colleague Mrs St Claire upset when he stands her up.
The besotted teacher asks him out when she learns of his single status but, after agreeing to go for lunch with her, John Paul leaves her waiting and uses the time to get closer to Diego.
John Paul split from husband Ste Hay last year, and James Sutton previously opened up to Digital Spy about his character’s needs.
He explained: “On paper John Paul has got really strong morals, but he’s also a romantic – he wants love and he wants passion. He makes really dumb choices and [his affair with Lockie] is another dumb choice!”
