The Union J singer wasn’t short of admirers before, but, thanks to his stint on I’m A Celebrity 2015, George Shelley has won himself an army of new fans.
So it makes sense that he’s keen to continue his television career.
Speaking to The Sun in December, George explained that he’s been having secret acting lessons - and that none other than Sir Ian McKellan has taken on the role of his coach.
He said at the time: “Ian McKellen has been mentoring me. He is one of my idols – him and Johnny Depp.
“Gandalf has said that I’m a good actor.”
And it seems as if all that work has paid off because, according to sources at the Daily Star, George has been offered a role on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks.
An insider told the paper: “As soon as producers heard that George wanted an acting career, they got in touch.
“They are willing to work around George’s schedule, so it could either be a cameo or a full-time role.”
While Hollyoaks bosses have been quick to deny the rumours, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen a popstar transform into a soapstar.
Hear’Say songstress Kym Marsh and The X Factor’s Shayne Ward are currently appearing in ITV’s Coronation Street - and they’ve both proven to be firm favourites with Corrie fans.
Maybe this means that George DOES have what it takes to wow Hollyoaks viewers!
Do you think George Shelley would be a good addition to the Hollyoaks cast?
