As fans of the soap will already know, the Gloved Hand Killer is still stalking the streets of Hollyoaks Village.

But for how much longer?

Lindsey Butterfield (Sophie Austin) has managed to keep her murderous nature a secret for almost a year now, with Trevor Royle (Greg Wood) being wrongly arrested for the deaths at Dee Valley Hospital.

But, as we all know, Trevor is now out of prison and on a mission to track down and expose the syringe-wielding murderer.

Lindsey’s husband, Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham) is also back in the village, albeit still blissfully unaware that his wife was the one who tried to kill him.

But, when the duo return to the scene of the crime, Freddie suffers a chilling flashback.

Viewers will have to wait and see exactly how much he remembers, but it’s enough to (naturally) set Lindsey on edge.

And quite rightly, too, because the latest turn of events leads to police arriving in Hollyoaks village.

They are soon clapping handcuffs on one of our favourite characters and placing them under arrest - but who is it?

Have they finally caught the Gloved Hand Killer?

Speaking to the Daily Star about whether or not her character will be caught, Sophie previously said: “I love my character and I invest so much time into her, but I also realise that she is a serial killer and she needs to have her comeuppance at some point.

“I’d like to see what plays out, but I’d like to see her get caught. She’s hurt too many people, so I’d like to see justice served.

“But who knows? It’s Hollyoaks – anything can happen!”

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4.
