There will be a brand new face in Hollyoaks come 2017, as Liverpool born actress Lauren McQueen has officially joined the cast as the sweet and caring niece of Diane O’Conor.
Wouldn't it be great if she really was another McQueen?
Lauren, who has previously enjoyed roles in Ordinary Lies and 4 o'clock club, has been cast as Lily Drinkwell. She will arrive in Chester after tragically losing her mother. And although she has a kind heart and a soft nature, she has been described as a 'tough cookie' and 'a little mischievous like her Aunty - who will also return in the new year.
Talking about her new role, Lauren said "I was over the moon when I found out I was joining the cast of Hollyoaks. Being from Liverpool I feel so lucky to be working in my home town and being part of such a successful show with cast I’ve looked up to since I was 12. I couldn’t have been cast in a better family!"
You can get to know the lovely Lauren a little better in this Hollygoss vid:
Lauren will make her debut as Lily on January 5, and the role could be huge for McQueen, who launched her acting career on the Hollyoaks set after training since the age of 11.
It great to see some new fresh faces in the world of soap! We can't wait to get to grips with a brand new young character - especially after we lost teenage serial killer Nico Blake back in October. Hollyoaks definitely needs some new young'uns.
