Next week Hollyoaks will air their upcoming consensual storyline between Ellie Nightingale and new character Nick Savage (Dirk’s nephew).
After a night out on Fresher’s Week Ellie wakes up the next morning having no memory of having sex with Nick.
Both Sophie Poley (who plays Ellie) and Ben Ryan-Davis (who plays Nick) have opened up about the dark storyline ahead.
Sophie told OK! Online: "Because of the nature of the story, I think it's going to split opinion, which is absolutely fantastic and that's what we're aiming to do with this, to open up a discussion."
Ben also told Digital Spy: "Half [the viewers] might be on Nick's side and half might be on Ellie's side."
And now Hollyoaks bosses have created a documentary on sexual consent titled Hollyoaks: What Is Consent?
In the programme viewers will see two groups of students talking about the issues around sexual consent; the students will then be given a case study of two people who hook up at a Freshers' Week event.
However, they'll be unaware that the two characters 'E' and 'N' are based around Hollyoaks' characters Ellie and Nick.
Talking about the short film Bryan Kirkwood – Hollyoaks’ executive producer – said: "We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to start a discussion about sexual consent on this platform.
"Watching the film and the students’ response to this subject and then subsequently to the episode simply confirms what a much-needed conversation this is."
During the documentary the groups of students are also shown a clip of the episode to find out if the scene changed their views.
You can find if the scene changed their views when Hollyoaks: What Is Consent airs on Friday at 7:30pm on All4.
