It's hard to believe it but Loose Women has been on our television screens for 18 years.
And to marks its special anniversay the ITV show went all out with some extra special celebrations on today's episode. And there were a few surprise guests in the form of previous panel members too.
Loose Women legend Sherrie Hewson made a return to sit behind the famous desk, having been on almost 900 episodes of the show. Yes, you read that right. 900!
The star was clearly emotional being back in the studio. She said: “I’ve always been very passionate about this show because I think we all watch it and we can identify. Not to everybody, but you can relate to one of the women at any one time.”
She added: “I don’t know what I would have done without Loose Women. I don’t know what I would have done without the friendship that this show gives you. It’s amazing… it’s making me upset.”
Bless!
And she wasn't the only familiar face to be back in the hotseat. Kerry Katona also made a comeback and was equally excited to be there.
The singer who joined the team when she was only 22 said: “It was my first proper grown up job… obviously we had Atomic Kitten and we were singing and travelling the world. [But on Loose Women] I felt like I was like Trevor McDonald. I felt like I was reading the news!”
She added: “I’m not as confident as I was then. I think then, you’re so young in your twenties. I know who I am now but back then you’re like, ‘I know it all!’ Whereas now, the older you get, obviously being a mum, you’re much more aware of the things you’re doing so you don’t upset your kids.”
And to round off the celebrations in style Kerry joined Coleen Nolan and Stacey Solomon to form girlband ‘Chronic Kitten’ in a one-off performance of 'Ladies’ Night.'
Happy birthday ladies!
