Are you all excited for Bake Off? For Mary’s fancy jackets and Paul’s beautiful eyes? Us too.

But we’re even more excited about the amazing line-up of bakers that are heading into that iconic white tent. Haven’t had a chance to check them out yet? You can have a gander at the line-up HERE.

Whilst there's excitement around the show coming back – Bake Off was the most watched programme of 2015 – some fans have hit out at the ‘incredibly dated’ promo images of the contestants. The pictures in question show the smiling contestants with a bowl of icing, introducing their new ‘batter week challenge’ – pink icing for women, blue icing for men.

Some people have come forward to label the move ‘gender stereotyping’ and ‘embarrassing’ given the fact that it’s 2016.

Some viewers have also hit back, claiming that it’s not a big deal and that others shouldn’t really be causing a fuss:

BBC One’s Twitter account have now re-released the images, but with the icing changed to colours including purple, green and yellow.
