Emmerdale’s Gaynor Faye, who plays Megan Macey, has announced she’s left the show
Megan Macey first arrived in Emmerdale in 2012 when her half brother Declan Macey tracked her down to work on a big project.
But now the actress has revealed she’s hanging up her muddy stilettos to focus on new roles.
“I know it’s a risk but I need to push myself out of my comfort zone,” she told OK! magazine.
“I’ve always been the type of person who doesn’t want to stay playing the same character for too long. I’ve been on the show for over six years and have naturally reached a point where I’d like to do some other stuff.”

She was introduced to add a touch of glamour to the cast, but recently Megan’s been involved in a darker storyline after crashing into elderly Eric Pollard in her carwhile using the phone driving.
With Eric admitted to hospital with a bleed on the brain, it’s possible that Megan may be leaving the village in handcuffs.

“If Megan goes to prison, I don't think it'd be a great place for her. I think she'd definitely get into a lot of trouble in prison,” Gaynor told Digital Spy in an earlier interview.
"But that could be a good thing – it'd be great to play. We have got a little prison set because so many people go to prison on this show!"
Her departure comes as rival soap Coronation Street suffers serious setbacks after eight cast members have announced they’re quitting the show.
So far in 2019, Emmerdale's only casualty has been Lisa Dingle, who recently revealed she is dying of a heart condition.
