Vincent Hubbard is Walford's bad boy with a shocking Christmas story in the pipeline, but last night Richard Blackwood revealed he couldn't be more different in reality.
How are you enjoying your role as Vincent?
"I am loving being able to sink my teeth into a character who is completely the opposite to the way that I am."
Does Vincent want any more kids?
"I think he does as he's a family man and would do anything for his daughter Pearl. Because his father was not around, he's even more besotted with his child at the moment, so I'm sure he'd love to have more."
Would he have kids with Ronnie?
"I don't think he'd have kids with Ronnie- he's not that crazy! He understands the dynamics between him and Ronnie and that would be babymama dramas he's not ready for."
Has he got a secret crush on anyone else in the square?
"No! Being torn between Kim and Ronnie has given him more than enough stress for now. Too many women troubles is definitely not a good look."
Can you see parallels between yourself and Vince?
"Not at all- in terms of being a player, I'm past that but I did have to tap into my old self and it reminds me of the stress it once caused.
I'm glad that's not me anymore! I tune into the side of me that always wanted to be bad and wasn't. I'm a nice guy so I enjoy being someone who has no fear, is confrontational and lives on the edge.
I'm a peaceful person and was raised a certain way so would only be like that if I was really antagonised. I have ethics whereas he doesn't have certain ethics."
Would you do more comedy or music?
"Down the line yes, but any job I do I give 100% to. I've been doing standup for 22 years so it feels good to step away, let the circuit breathe and let new talent earn their place just like I had to earn mine. I hope my career path can also show the younger generation that there's an end game.
I'm proud to be able to show people you can go from Hackney Empire to Eastenders, Corrie- wherever you want to go. I want to prove to people that there's a light at the end of the tunnel, so right now I'm 100% Eastenders.
You were in Anuvahood and Adam Deacon is working on a new crime comedy- would you be up for that?
"If I was allowed to, yes. I'm very loyal to Eastenders as they turned my life around but at the same time I would never say no to those that helped me come up. I'm a loyal person, if you have my back I have yours and never forget it."
Who's your celebrity crush?
"I've only ever had one celebrity crush in my life- Clueless' Stacey Dash, but I'm over it now. I met her years later and it was more appreciation- I didn't try to chat her up as she has two kids and I didn't want to be the 'side chick'!"
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I love Eastenders, so how ever long the journey is I'll embrace it.
Hollywood? Bad Boys 3?
"I'd love to one day- I think I've got the build (jokily flexes muscles)."
