Electro Velvet- consisting of Rolling Stones tribute act member Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas- were chosen out of hundreds of potentials.

They will perform their track Still In Love With You in May’s live Eurovision final.

One critic said: "I've now listened to it a few times but on the Euro stage you only get one chance and I don't know if its strong enough to woo the Eurovision voters".

Larke said after finding out the twosome were heading to Austria” "I feel incredibly privileged and humbled to be representing the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, for this massively historic 60th anniversary event.

"We have a fantastic song and will work as hard as is humanly possible to bring the contest home and make our great nation proud. It's time to get this party started! See you in Vienna!"

Katie Price trying out for Eurovision

The last time the UK won was in 1997 with Katrina and the Waves.

The last twosome to enter Eurovision were left humiliated in 2003 when they received ‘nil points’ thanks to a ‘technical issue’ when caused one of the vocalists to sing out of tune.

In 2007, Katie Price famously made her bid for Eurovision despite being pregnant with daughter Princess.
