After losing her beloved daughter Holly Barton from a heroin overdose earlier this year, Emmerdale's Moira Barton is finding this year's festive season extremely distressing. Turning to drink in the run up to Christmas Day, Moira will spiral out of control – but can her former lover Cain Dingle save the day?

This week, we'll see Moira endanger the lives of others when she gets behind the wheel while drunk and injures both her nephew Pete (who share an awkward moment of passion in the lead up to Christmas) and Jacob – an accident that will see both of the men hospitalised and Pete in a serious condition.

Desperate to show how much Moira means to him, Cain rushes to the farm to try and see what he can do to help the situation and he ends up taking the rap for a car crash.

Romance, huh?

Will this see the start of a reunion between the pair? Or will Moira continue to push those who love her most away?

Actress Natalie J Robb isn't too sure, telling Radio Times: "She does really love Cain, but she’s confused and lost and doesn’t know what she wants. She doesn’t feel like she can trust him again after Charity and she does hold him a little bit responsible for not supporting Holly."

Despite arguing about Cain taking the rap, relations between the pair start to mellow on Christmas Day as they both address the issue of their marriage and their future?

And with so much mistletoe around, will Moira and Cain be reunited for good?

Let's hope so.
