Emmerdale spoilers: Marlon Dingle devastated when romantic gesture goes horribly wrong

Having convinced Leyla round to their art forgery plan, Frank and Clive set the wheels in motion, using Megan's car to transport the fake work.

Leyla offers to be their getaway driver – but when she finds out that Clive's real plan is to stitch Frank up and leave the country, she's torn. Will her conscience lose her the man she loves?

Meanwhile, when Megan finds out about the con, she tells Frank they're finished.

Still unhappy with her dad's relationship with Bernice, Leanna and Gabby plot to break the couple up. Gabby drops into conversation that Bernice is looking for commitment, leaving Liam feeling slightly uneasy.

And Leanne, knowing how excited Bernice is for the Gala, convinces her she's made the wrong choice with her outfit. Bernice rushes into town to amend her mistake.

Showing up later to the Woolpack in a ridiculous ball gown, it dawns on Bernice that she's been stitched up by the girls. Angry and upset, she confronts Leanne and Gabby.

Humiliated as it is, Bernice is upset when Liam sides with his daughter. But Gabby quickly starts to feel guilty for her part in the cruel trick, and sides with Bernice. With tensions high, is this the end of Bernice and Liam?

During a meeting with Nicola and Priya, Graham opens a beer, leaving Priya concerned for his well being. Seeing an opportunity to regain control, Nicola tempts him further with some wine.

Graham continues drinking, but when he runs out of booze, grabs his car keys to head out and buy some more. Megan spots him heading for the car and intercepts him, but a drunk Graham misreads her concern and lunges in for a kiss.

Mortified, he leaves and runs into Noah, who wants to find out more about Joe. Graham walks to Noah to Butler's Farm, where he tells him he'll find his 'answers'.

As Debbie answers the door she's shocked when Graham implies Cain knows more about Joe's disappearance than he is letting on. Will Cain's secret be revealed?

As Marlon and April decorate the Christmas tree, an over-excitable April begins to talk about falling in love.

The conversation sparks an idea in Marlon's head and he surprises a returning Jessie with fairy lights spelling out "I love you". The gesture throws Jessie and she leaves in a rush.

Marlon is crestfallen, but later Jessie explains she never really moved on from her first husband and Marlon agrees to help scatter his ashes in order to find closure. Will Jessie reciprocate Marlon's gesture by telling him "I love you" too?

Jacob asks Liv out on a date to the cinema, but later becomes embarrassed when David tries to give him relationship advice, and storms out. David is puzzled by Jacob's irrational behaviour...

But Maya thinks she knows exactly what's going on. She tells him to stop taking his frustrations out on his dad, but when he storms away from her, too, she realises his feelins for her are stronger than ever.

Charity is left to entertain Moses and Johnny but is horrified when she realises she's used permanent paint on the kids' faces. Struggling to regain control, Vanessa arrives back to the pub earlier than they thought.

Later, Charity takes offence when Vanessa remarks on her parenting skills and is downbeat to think she's a terrible mum. Soon Vanessa makes her feel better as she recounts all the times she's got it wrong too. Vanessa happily agrees when Charity moots the idea of them living together and they're excited to start looking for a place together.

Meanwhile, Pollard comforts Rodney, knowing that he's been given the sack by Tracy.

What better way to forget your troubles than by drowning them in the pub?
