The 22-year-old, who won the reality TV show in 2008, will make his debut on the show next month but so far no details of his character have been revealed.
George said: “I’m really excited to play a guest part in Emmerdale. The cast and crew have been really friendly and the village is a spectacular place to be. It’s such an iconic show and it’s brilliant to be able to be a part of it.”
He’ll feature in four episodes of the ITV soap towards to the end of February.
This isn’t the first time George has tried his hand at acting: in 2011 he was cast as Kyle Stack on BBC One’s Waterloo Road, a role he held for 30 episodes.
George has also appeared in Casualty and The Dumping Ground, a spin-off from the popular children’s show The Story of Tracy Beaker.
