It looks like Emmerdale’s Eric Pollard is still struggling to cope following the tragic death of his wife Val.

In scenes set to air next month, viewers will see Eric go on a violent rampage – smashing up son David’s shop with a sledgehammer.

When David suggests donating some of the shop’s takings to Val’s charity, Eric is unimpressed.

Determined to put a stop to David’s idea, Eric breaks into the store and smashes everything in sight.

David has done everything he can to try and help his dad through this tough time, he even sacrificed his marriage to Alicia, but will Eric’s latest move be the final straw?

During last month’s Disaster Week in the Village, Val became trapped after Chrissie Sugden accidentally caused an explosion – sending a helicopter crashing down.

Understandably angry with Chrissie, Eric has already targeted Home Farm over the loss of Val, but his latest move will push his family and friends even further away.

Chris Chittell, who plays Eric, recently appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about his current storyline, suggesting he’s not entirely happy.

He said: “They’ve written a lot of stuff which Pollard would have been to for Valeria but they’ve turned him into a wimp.”
