It’s been a roller coaster week for Emmerdale’s Aaron Livesy, after he made the shocking confession his dad Gordon raped him as a child.
But now Danny Miller, who plays the soap favourite, has insisted his character will get justice for Gordon’s sick actions.
Last week Aaron told his married lover Robert Sugden the horrific truth, and it’s been revealed his mum Chas will be the next to find out.
Speaking to Radio Times, 25-year-old Danny said: “I think justice will be done. But first, there has to be an admission from Gordon. Because, otherwise, it will be difficult to prove.
“I don’t know exactly what’s planned, but I’m sure the story team will do a fantastic job of rounding it off.”
Danny confessed he and the team have been working closely with the NSPCC to ensure the sensitive story is told in the most authentic way.
He said: “It felt raw. And you do add your own personal touch to it. So it took me back to when I was eight and the fact that my own dad was a man who’d always look after me and take me to the football. So it was difficult to play someone who’d had that trust broken. Aaron’s dad suddenly became a predator.”
Following the heartbreaking scenes between Aaron and Robert, fans took to Twitter to call for a RobRon reunion – and Danny hopes they’ll get their happy ever after.
“I’d definitely like to see them together after all these months of them sneaking around behind people’s backs,” he said.
“Hopefully they’ll have a life together. Robert needs to say that he’s gay and give Aaron a guarantee that he wants to be with him.”
