This December isn’t full of Christmas cheer for one Emmerdale character - Moira Barton is set to drink-drive through the village and land herself in trouble as she hits Pete and fears she’s killed him.

Moira, played by Natalie Robb, has been drinking heavily lately to block out the pain caused by her daughter Holly’s drugs overdose death and her split from her cheating husband Cain.

She fails to sell Butlers Farm after meeting a potential buyer while still under the influence and confides in Pete which leads to them kissing.

Moira then heads to the Woolpack where she gets drunk before hopping into her van and driving through the streets of Emmerdale village.

Pete spots the van coming down the street and jumps to save Jacob by pushing him out of the way but ends up in the path of the vehicle himself.

Moira hits him and he is knocked unconscious at the side of the road, and an ambulance is called.

However, things take a surprise turn when Moira’s estranged husband Cain takes the blame for the drink-driving in a bid to help Moira.

Emmerdale continues on Monday at 7.30pm on ITV1.
