The 23-year-old has played the young mother since July 2011, but she admitted she's looking forward to trying new things.
Speaking to the Mirror, Danielle said: "I've had the most amazing time at EastEnders having been involved in some exciting story lines, including giving birth in a live scene.
"I'll miss everyone here and am looking forward to the future."
It's unknown how or when Lola will leave Albert Square, but let's hope it's a happy ending for her and daughter Lexi.
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins praised Danielle for her performance in the soap, saying: "[She] is a fantastic actress and I genuinely look forward to seeing her since in future roles away from the Square."
News of Danielle's exit comes after it was revealed James Forde, who plays Liam Butcher, is leaving the BBC One soap.
It was also recently confirmed that Jake Wood – AKA Max Branning – is taking a year off. He told The Sun: "I've been at EastEnders for nine years and I feel the time is right to give Max a break."
