EastEnders viewers were outraged when Steven Beale showed Lauren Branning a brain scan of a dog and pretended it was his to back up his cancer lie
Steven Beale stooped even lower in his mission to keep girlfriend Lauren Branning by his side when he passed off a poorly dog's brain scan as his own, as he tried to back up his brain tumour lie. Viewers were horrified by his latest stunt which came after he told Lauren last week that he was dying from cancer. Last night's (Monday) episode saw Steven and Abi plot together to use the dog's scan as his own.
Abi stole the pictures of a King Charles spaniel from work and handed them to Steven. Abi believes Steven wants to humiliate Lauren before starting a relationship with her. She's a doll, right?
Steven said: "Just as she thinks the tumour is shrinking, I'll leave her to be with you. Me and you Abi, we're the same.
"If this is going to work, if we want to be together, we have to make this lie as convincing as possible. Research appointment and treatments, whatever it takes to make Lauren believe us."
Steven then took the dog's scan pictures out of an envelope and showed them to a stunned Lauren, while viewers slammed the plot. Fans flooded Twitter with horrified messages after the scenes.
EastEnders have used the fake cancer plotline before. Sharon Mitchell's mum, Angie, told her husband, Den Watts, that she had cancer after finding out he was having an affair and planning to leave her.

A few years later, Ian Beale told fiancee, Mel Healey, that his daughter, Lucy (who was only a toddler at the time) had cancer, as he feared losing her to Steve Owen.
