It’s been a pretty tough few months for Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), but, following her engagement to boyfriend Martin Fowler (James Bye), we thought that things were finally on the up.
More fool us, obviously; this is Albert Square!
As viewers have seen, the mum-of-two has been happily planning her wedding to Martin and finally feeling on top of her postpartum psychosis.
And, since making peace with Peggy Mitchell (Dame Barbara Windsor) over the fact she murdered Archie (Larry Lamb), Stacey has been encouraged to live her life and enjoy it.

However, as always, there’s going to be more than a few bumps in the road for the couple during the run up to their big day.
Following Peggy’s sad passing, Stacey will be left distraught - and wondering whether the death of the Walford legend is a sign that she and Martin ought to cancel their wedding.
Despite having serious doubts, Stacey winds up feeling more positive on her big day, and tells Martin that she’s ready to tie the knot.
With their family and friends - including Sharon Mitchell and Ian Beale - around them, the couple prepare to say their vows to one another.

Or do they?
Even if they DO manage to say ‘I do’ before anything else goes wrong, it’s safe to say that their wedding day will set the stage for some VERY big EastEnders storylines to come.
For better or for worse.
EastEnders airs these scenes on Friday, May 20 at 8pm on BBC One.
