We all thought that Paul Coker and Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid)’s love was written in the stars.

And, after months of waiting, viewers will see finally see the duo go public with their romance at the Queen Vic next week.

However it seems as if their happiness won’t last for long…

Yup, Johnny Labey - who plays Paul - has been written out of the show after one-year in the part.

A spokesperson confirmed the news to Digital Spy, saying: “We can confirm Jonny will be leaving the show later this year.

“We wish him all the best for the future.”

However, while further details about Paul’s exit remain firmly under wraps, a source HAS let slip that he won’t be going quietly.

Eep!

"Jonny is leaving in a couple of months as part of an explosive storyline," they commented.

"Bosses are keeping tight lipped about what's in store but there's plenty of drama in store for Paul before he leaves."

A sentiment that was echoed by Johnny Labey on Twitter.

Shortly after the statement was made, he wrote: “WOW!

“Thank you for your support but there's still SO MUCH to happen for Paul so don't lose hope.”

He added cryptically: “This is JUST THE START!”

Ooh, we wonder what they have planned for Les and Pam Coker’s grandson? Could his exit be tied in to the fact that ALL the old Mitchell faces will be returning to Albert Square in the not-so-distant future?

We guess we'll just have to wait and see. All the best of luck to Johnny with his next big acting role!

Will you be sad to see Paul Coker leave Walford?
