Ian is reeling when Jane tells him their relationship is over and she’s leaving Walford!

Ian is crying tears of joy when his wife Jane comes out of her coma this week but next week he’s going to be crying tears of despair and heartache when Jane drops the bombshell news that their relationship is over and she’s decided to leave Walford!

The news is like a dagger to Ian’s heart and he's left struggling to make sense of what his wife is telling him. And so are we quite frankly! Did Jane have some kind of epiphany when she was in a coma and realise just how self-centred her chippy-owning other half is? Not exactly. The truth is far darker.

Next week Jane will find herself at the mercy of Max Branning who blackmails her into leaving Walford.

As the police start investigating exactly what happened the night of the fire that lead to Steven’s death, Max, who we know is working for evil Wilmott-Brown, is terrified that Jane will spill all and expose his involvement.

Before the police can begin their questioning, Max shows up at Jane’s hospital bedside and threatens her to keep quiet otherwise the rest of the Beale family will find themselves in severe danger. (Scary threat Max, although to be honest there aren’t that many Beales about right now. They’re either six feet under, locked up or abroad!)

At first Jane stands up to Max and tells him she can’t understand why he’s being so ruthless. Has she got wind of the fact he’s having his strings pulled by someone else? However, she later starts to feel genuinely scared about the future and decides, in order to protect Ian, she must leave Walford alone.

Needless to say Ian is flabbergasted when his wife announces their relationship is over and she needs to be by herself, away from Albert Square. Is Jane really about to make a shock exit or will someone or something stop her from packing her bags?
