Shabnam Masood, played by Rakhee Thakrar, recently broke down and confessed that, after a drunken romp with Dean Wicks, she gave birth to a baby girl.
But, desperate to keep her romp with the Albert Square rapist a secret, she abandoned her daughter on a doorstep shortly after she was born.
While nobody but Stacey Branning knows Shabnam’s secret at the moment, it seems as if Shirley Carter - aka the baby’s grandmother - is about to uncover the truth.
Sources have claimed that Linda Henry’s character will visit the house where she believes her granddaughter lives, before being thrown out by the child's foster father.
However, Shirley is not the only character tracking the girl down, as Shabnam's father Masood Ahmed is also seen outside the house with his friend Jane Beale.
Will either Masood or Shirley be able to bring their granddaughter home to Walford?
An EastEnders source told the Daily Star: “This was always going to kick off when it all came out.
“The baby made the news after being abandoned by its mother.”
They continued: “That baby is half Masood and half Carter.
“Shabnam has kept her secret all these years but something is going to happen that makes her break down and confess.
“The baby bombshell is going to send shockwaves around Albert Square and there are two very different families at the centre of all the drama.”
EastEnders will reportedly air these scenes in May.
