For thirty years, Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) has lived with the turmoil of not knowing who her real dad is.
Over the past few months, fans have watched as the feisty blonde has pieced together evidence which proved that her biological dad was a close friend of her adoptive father, Den Watts.
And, on Friday 30th October, we saw Sharon come face-to-face with her real dad for the first time.
Yup, in a dramatic EastEnders twist, Sharon walked in on evil Gavin Sullivan (Paul Nicholas) holding the Mitchell family hostage.
Cue him greeting her with a cold “Hello, Princess" – and the penny finally dropping.
But how will Sharon cope with the news that Albert Square’s latest villain is her birth father?
Well, speaking to The Sun, Paul Nicholas explained that his character’s daughter will be thrown into turmoil… before learning to love her twisted dad.
He said: "It’s a massive shock for Sharon for this guy to turn up and then realise he’s her dad.
“He looks a little off-centre to say the least, so it must be very worrying.
"But she believes it’s true because she recognises the feelings that word ‘princess’ triggers from all those years ago. And I think her feelings for him will kick in because your blood is your blood."
The seasoned actor added: "The phrase ‘Hello, Princess’ actually came from Gavin all those years ago.
“It’s something Sharon’s aware of in the back of her mind."
Over the next few weeks, viewers can expect more and more secrets about Sharon and Gavin’s relationship to be revealed - particularly regarding how she was brought up by Den and Angie.
Paul explained: “Gavin was a villain like Den. And he has a lot of history that the audience doesn’t know about yet.
“He knows a lot of secrets which I am sure will come out.”
Were you shocked by the revelation that Gavin is Sharon’s real father? Or did you guess the truth a while back?
