EastEnders couple Shabnam and Kush have been struggling to cope with the loss of their unborn baby boy.

After returning home from the hospital, Shabnam [Rakhee Thakrar] quickly became frustrated with Carmel [Bonnie Langford] when she began quizzing her about her and Kush’s wedding plans.

She later revealed her shocking plans to move back to Pakistan after the funeral - and an emotional Kush [Davood Ghadami] told his wife-to-be to move to Pakistan and stay there.

But is Shabnam really leaving Albert Square?

Well, quite honestly, we don’t think so.

Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, Rakhee admitted that her character still had tough times to come - but hinted that she and Kush WILL be able to work things out.

She said: “You’ll have to wait and see, but what I can say is their relationship will continue to be tested. But they’re a special couple.

“They fall apart and then they get back together, they’re like magnets. So we’ll see them clashing, but ultimately they’re still together.”

Show boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins added: "Shabnam and Kush's story is only just beginning.”

Throw in the fact that Bonnie Langford recently signed a one-year contract to stay on as Kush’s mum, Carmel Kazemi, and it suggests that Shabnam has a great deal left to do in Albert Square.

Speaking on on ITV's Lorraine, Bonnie said: "I've got a plaque on the door now! I've got my own dressing room and I'm there for a while. At the moment I'm there for about a year, which is just wonderful."

We hope this means that Carmel and Masood [Nitin Ganatra] will be able to help Shabnam and Kush work through their grief - and their differences - to get their relationship back on track.

After all, Christmas is coming up - and we have a feeling that the Masoods could be at the centre of a few big storylines for EastEnders this year.

EastEnders continues tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
