EastEnders’s Rob Kazinsky on Sean Slater return: ‘It’s still the work I’m most proud of’

EastEnders’s Rob Kazinsky speaks out about rumoured Sean Slater comeback

EastEnders theory: Does Stacey’s key prove that KAT is Sean Slater’s mum?

There have been a lot of rumours swirling around former EastEnders star Rob Kazinsky.

Particularly around the fact that his character, Sean Slater, seems like a VERY good fit for the role of Kat Moon ’s missing son, ‘Luke’.

But is there any truth to the claims?

Or is it just a case of wishful thinking on the behalf of the soap’s fans?

Well, so far, nobody has commented on the idea of Sean Slater returning to Albert Square to meet his biological mum.

And, more to the point, his sister Stacey (Lacey Turner) hasn’t mentioned whether or not he’ll be popping along to her wedding to Martin Fowler (James Bye).

However, in a new interview with the Press Association, the actor has revealed that he has previously discussed a comeback storyline with the EastEnders production team.

He said: "It’s been a topic of conversation between myself and executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins on and off for years.

“I would come home and visit my mum and dad and I’d say, ‘OK, maybe I could pop in if we could set up and shoot all my scenes in a day, maybe I could do something with Lacey Turner (who plays Sean’s sister Stacey)."

He added sorrowfully: “But we were just never able to make it happen.”

Boo, hiss.

Well, even if he’s NOT Kat’s son (and, after all, that does seem likely - she’s run off to Ireland to track down Zoe’s twin, remember!), there are lots of opportunities for Sean to make a return.

His beloved Roxy (Rita Simons) is still living in Albert Square and, as previously mentioned, his BFF and sister Stacey is back in Walford.

Not to mention Kyle (Riley Slater Millington), his half brother.

But does Rob fancy making a comeback?

He said: "At this point, it’s been eight years now since I left that show.

"I don’t know if there’s much that would get me back right now, especially with the life that I have now and the girlfriend that I would have to leave behind, but you never say never.

“It’s still the work I’m most proud of – the work I did on that show.”

Rob is currently promoting his new TV show, Second Chance, and the new Warcraft movie, in which he plays an orc named Orgrim.

And it honestly looks as if Rob is going to win big time, as a teaser of the film was met with a HUGELY positive response at Comic Con.

Anyone else tempted to go along and see it?
