EastEnders fans, prepare yourselves.

Neil McDermott – aka Ryan Malloy – is returning to Albert Square.

Last time we saw Ryan, he handed himself in to the police after going on the run back in 2011.

For those that need reminding – he accidentally killed Rob Grayson whilst trying to protect his half-sister Whitney Dean.

But now, Ryan is apparently back filming top-secret scenes, according to The Sun.

And insider told them: “Ryan is never far from Whitney’s mind and she has always stayed in touch as much as possible.

“Although Ryan will only be appearing in a couple of episodes it’s fair to say that when he’s around drama usually follows.”

Ryan is also the estranged father of Stacey Fowler’s daughter Lily – who he tried to take away when he returned for a short time in January this year before handing himself in.

However, Whitney will soon discover some devastating health news, which could affect her baby with Lee Carter.

And this news could test the couple’s relationship – which is when her older brother Ryan might be needed.

But Ryan’s not the only one that could be returning to Walford, as Ross Kemp recently revealed it’s not the last we’ve seen of Grant Mitchell.

And now Tamzin Outhwaite – who played Mel Owens – has also said she’d consider a return.

“I’d definitely think about it but I’ve never been asked,” she told The Sun.

“I’m not sure if my character has reason to go back, though, as she’s got no family there.”

We’d love to see Mel return, wouldn’t you?

EastEnders returns on BBC One at 7.30pm.
