He’s been battling his demons with alcohol for some time now, but next month Phil Mitchell’s dangerous addiction will see him tear through the Square – in a digger.
The Walford hard man was recently told he has cirrhosis of the liver, meaning he could only have a year to live. He also discovered his mum Peggy has terminal cancer.
And it seems Phil finally cracks and decides he has nothing left to lose – as he sets out to destroy his OWN businesses.

After vandalising The Arches, he then turns on his car lot in a stolen digger. But Phil is unaware somebody is trapped in the office during his attack.
Speaking to the Mirror, a BBC source said: “Phil is playing fast and loose with his own life – but now he risks killing someone with his crazy behaviour.
“He doesn’t know that someone is trapped inside the office as he rips through Albert Square in a digger. They are in mortal danger and in his current mental state no one dares try to stop him.”
But he soon realises the potential severity of his actions – when his friends and neighbours rush to dig through the rubble to save the person trapped.
Phil isn’t the only Mitchell with problems right now: his son Ben, currently struggling with his sexuality, recently found himself at the centre of a Chlamydia outbreak.
He broke the news to girlfriend Abi Branning, unaware that the night before she’d slept with Lee Carter, meaning his partner Whitney Dean is also at risk of contracting the STI.
