In news we didn't not expect to hear - Lucas Johnson is returning to EastEnders later this year.

The last time Lucas, played by Don Gilet, was seen on screen was back in 2016 when Denise Fox visited him in prison and told him to stay away from her family, however BBC bosses have now confirmed he's making a comeback and will be turning Denise's life upside down... AGAIN.

"Bringing back Don to the Square has been on our wish list for some time now as there’s definitely some unfinished business with Lucas and he certainly hasn’t let Denise go.

"His reign of terror put him firmly up there with Walford’s biggest villains and I can’t wait for audiences to watch his return unfold," Jon Sen EastEnders' Executive Producer has said.

EastEnders fans will remember the absolute terror Lucas committed over the years.

He first arrived in Walford back in 2008 after his daughter Chelsea Fox tracked him down. All seemed well and he even reunited and got engaged to Denise but things quickly took a sinister turn.

He left his ex-girlfriend Trina to die, killed Denise's ex-boyfriend Owen, then framed Denise for their murderers, pretended that she had ended her own life but really she was kept hostage in the basement next door.

He was eventually arrested but a few years later Denise and Patrick Trueman visited him in prison and told him to never contact them again.

It's been four years and Lucas' return is set to cause shockwaves in Albert Square - but has he really changed? Or is he just as evil as he was before?
