Here's some good news for EastEnders fans - Lee Ryan will be returning to his role as Woody Woodward for at least a year
Ok, we'll admit that when we first heard Lee Ryan from Blue was joining the cast of EastEnders, we were a little bit sceptical. But, we're happy to say, that Lee proved us very wrong and we were massively won over by his stint as Woody in EastEnders. How cute was he when he saved Whitney from the nasty security man? So we were sad to see him get on his bike, literally, this week when Mick sent him packing.
But the good news is, the Blue singer will be back as series regular - and he's set to cause a stir! According to sources, 33-year-old Lee, impressed fans and bosses so much that he's bagged himself a year long contract on the show.
His character Harry 'Woody' Woodward, was only supposed to be a guest role to fill in while Danny Dyer was on an extended break from the show.
Lee is (obviously) chuffed about his new gig. The former CBB star said: "I am delighted that EastEnders have asked me to come back.
“It was a dream come true when I landed the role so I am thrilled that this has now turned into something much bigger.
“It has been a surreal experience walking down the road and having people shouting ‘Woody’ at me but I cannot wait to get back in the Square to see what trouble he will cause this time round.”
Ah, we're pleased to have you back on board Lee.
