Who killed Lucy Beale? It's a question that's been on the lips of EastEnders fans since her death on Good Friday 2014 - and now, finally, it seems as if someone might just have the answer.
And by someone, we obviously mean Walford's very own Nancy Drew, Lauren Branning.
Yup, Max may have ripped up DC Emma Summerhayes' file of incriminating evidence, but that hasn't fazed Jacqueline Jossa's character.
The pretty brunette will be seen piecing the evidence together in secret during next week's episodes - but, with her dad still behaving very strangely (grief, perhaps? Or guilt?), she decides to hide the case file.
Good idea, except for the fact it leads to her dropping one very important piece of paper.
Thank goodness, then, that Lauren later finds the scrap stuck to the bottom of her shoe.
Pulling it off to toss into the bin, her eyes suddenly take in what she's seeing - and she is left rocked to the core.
Yes, she knows exactly what that paper means… but does it mean she knows who killed Lucy?
Or does it mean something which others have been suggesting for a long time now; was Lucy killed in a case of mistaken identity?
And was Lauren Branning (same initials, same suit, same job) the killer's intended victim?
Well, with Jacqueline Jossa already on maternity leave (she's due to give birth to her and Dan Osborne's baby in February), we know she will be leaving the show very soon.
But will she leave on her own terms? Will the killer, knowing she's solved the case, be the one who drives her away?
Or, worse still, will the murderer send Lauren to meet up with the late Lucy at the Queen Vic in the sky?
We guess we'll just have to wait and see - not long to go now until the big reveal. Roll on February!
