As EastEnders fans will know, Martin Fowler is blissfully unaware of the fact that he is not the father of Stacey’s baby son, Arthur.

In fact, Arthur’s father is one of Martin’s closest friends, Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), following his one night stand with Stacey (Lacey Turner) last year.

And now James Bye, who plays Martin, has revealed that things are set to “explode” when the truth finally comes out.

Teasing the big reveal, James Bye said to Inside Soap: "I think it's going to be an implode or explode situation.

“He'll either jump off a bridge or go crazy with Kush and Stacey.

“If it was me, I wouldn't be able to get my head around it. I've got kids myself so it's not something I ever want to think about!”

James added: “I am keen for him to find out, but at the moment I don't think it can happen, what with everything that is going on with Stacey.

"While I don't want it to end up being a long, drawn-out storyline, the upcoming scripts are really strong."

Meanwhile, in upcoming episodes, fans will watch as a devastated Shabnam (Rakhee Thakrar) learns the truth about Stacey’s baby.

Kush (Davood Ghadami) knew he was the father of Stacey’s baby before he married Shabnam, but chose not to tell her as he felt the truth would be too painful following the stillbirth of their own baby son.

Could this be the end of their relationship?

Speaking to OK! Online, Rakhee admitted: "There'll be a lot of heartache… it won't be easy.

"I love them together, [but] we’ll have to see.”

She added: “These are the things that relationships are built on though aren't they, the tough times."

Kush will fight to keep his and Shabnam’s marriage together, but his loyalties are soon tested when Stacey disappears with baby Arthur.

Will he be able to convince Shabnam to give him another chance?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, January 11 at 8pm and Tuesday, January 12 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
