If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably been busy missing Lauren Branning and Peter Beale after the lovebirds fled Walford earlier this year.

And, while we hoped that the pair would find their happy-ever-after over the other side of the world, we couldn’t help but hope that Jacqueline Jossa and Ben Hardy would return.

Now, according to The Sun, it seems as if our wish may be about to come HALF true - Jacqueline has allegedly filmed a series of ‘explosive scenes’ to mark her return from maternity leave.

Eep!

The newspaper claims that Lauren - last seen to be pregnant with Peter’s baby - will be back in Walford to watch her dad Max (Jake Wood) stand trial for the murder of Lucy Beale.

But will Lauren, who knows that Peter’s little brother Bobby is the REAL culprit, be able to stand by and watch her father go down?

“Max’s trial will be a very exciting storyline and Lauren’s return will be explosive because she knows Max didn’t kill Lucy," a source told The Sun.

“She agreed not to unmask Bobby as the killer but surely that won’t be at the expense of her own father..."

Hmm - we wonder.

After all, we know that Jake Wood is planning on taking a year-long hiatus from the soap, starting this summer.

Could that mean that he’s found innocent - and decides to head back to New Zealand with his eldest daughter in preparation for the birth of his first grandchild?

Or could that mean that he’s going to prison?

If it’s the latter, we’re going to assume that it’ll put a SERIOUS dampener on Lauren’s relationship with Peter; how else will the soap explain why one childhood sweetheart is coming back to Albert Square without the other, eh?

One thing’s for sure, we can’t wait to have the talented Jacqueline Jossa back on our screens again!
