There’s no point denying it; Ronnie Mitchell and Jack Branning’s romance is the stuff of Shakespearean ballads.

And it seems as if Ronnie (Samantha Womack) will be getting a surprise visit from her old flame Jack (Scott Maslen) next month.

Ronnie is completely oblivious to Jack’s impending return, as she’s too busy planning a surprise birthday party for Honey Mitchell.

But it turns out that she isn’t the only one planning a surprise.

Yup, meddling matchmaker Honey Mitchell is, like the rest of us, desperate to see the former couple back together… and she has a surprise or two up her own sleeve.

She soon tricks Walford’s blonde murderess into donning a blindfold for a game of Pin The Tail On The Donkey, and it’s not long before Ronnie stumbles into her ex.

But, while she’s delighted to see him, she’s soon left fuming when she learns that Jack’s only there because Honey contacted him.

After a mammoth argument, Jack storms out of the flat, seemingly dashing the couple’s hopes of ever reconciling.

But it’s not long before Billy (Perry Fenwick) steps in to give Ronnie a piece of his mind.

Urging her not to throw away her one chance of happiness, it seems as if Billy’s words are set to strike a chord with Ronnie.

In fact, she’s so moved by Billy’s speech that, when she sees Jack heading off in a cab, she decides to give chase.

It’s not long before she’s jumped inside the car alongside him - but will she finally be honest about her true feelings?

Speaking about the couple getting back together, actor Scott Maslen recently implied that it will be complicated.

He said: "They are destined to be together.

“But it's riddled with complexities as EastEnders is.”

EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, March 1 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
