Carli Norris is set for a guest stint in Eastenders in early 2016.

The actress, who previously appeared on Eastenders in 1998 as Alice McMahon, is best known for playing Martha Kane in Hollyoaks, and is currently starring as Fran Reynolds in Holby City.

And now the 41-year-old is set to play a recast Belinda Slater, formerly played by Leanne Lakey, who was last seen in Walford in 2003.

The Slater sister will be part of Kat Slater and Alfie Moon’s explosive return to the soap, and handbags at dawn are expected when she is reunited with Kat - played by Jessie Wallace.

Speaking about her signing, Carli said:

"Becoming one of the Slaters is an absolute dream, especially to be part of such a big and important storyline. It’s brilliant to be working with Shane and Jessie!”.

A spokesperson said of Belinda and Kat's showdown: "With sisters being sisters, will they see past each other's faults and manage to get their relationship back on track for the sake of the family?”

Oo-er.
