It’s long been rumoured that Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) and Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) will be returning to Albert Square for the new year.

But it seems as if another Mitchell has beaten them to the post!

Yup, EastEnders sources have officially confirmed that Louise Mitchell, now played by Tilly Keeper, will be BACK in Walford for 2016.

Bosses are currently staying tight-lipped on why Louise will be returning to the Square, but with Phil struggling to control his drinking, her return promises to cause a stir.

The daughter of Lisa Fowler and Phil Mitchell, Louise was last seen in EastEnders back in August 2010 after she had been living with Phil. Louise was reunited with Lisa after Peggy feared Phil was in no state to look after his daughter.

Shortly after, Phil turned up to visit Louise but was stunned to find her and Lisa had vanished. How will the pair react when they finally come face-to-face again?

Now fourteen years old, Louise has a fraught relationship with her mum and is determined to become a true Mitchell. However will she be able to look past Phil’s out of control drinking and how will she fit in with the rest of the Mitchell clan including her half-brother, Ben?

Excited to be joining the show, Tilly Keeper said: “I am so thrilled to be joining the cast of EastEnders, especially to be joining the Mitchell clan!

“It’s a dream come true and I can’t wait to get stuck into the role and see what lies in store for Louise.”

Louise Mitchell will return early next year.

We wonder if her doting granny and uncle will be following along behind her…?
