EastEnders spoilers: Ricky Norwood addresses ‘Fatboy’s not dead’ plot twist

EastEnders fans, it seems as if there may still be hope for Fatboy…

Is Fatboy alive?

As any true EastEnders fan will know, death can sometimes be a prove to be a temporary state for Albert Square residents.

We’ve watched the likes of Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Claudette Hubbard (Ellen Thomas), and Dirty Den (Leslie Grantham) all pop up, alive and well, after seeminglyy biting the bullet.

And they all had one thing in common; we NEVER saw the body.

So it makes sense that Fatboy - aka Ricky Norwood - could also be set to pop back up in Walford, alive and well.

As we all know, Arthur Chubb was incorrectly targeted by Ronnie Mitchell’s hitmen when twisted Claudette tricked them into thinking that he was her son, Vincent.

The result?

Yup, a heap of twisted metal and a (presumably) horribly mangled corpse.

However Richard Blackwood, the actor who plays Vincent Hubbard, recently hinted that Fatboy’s exit might not be as permanent as we once believed.

In fact, he’s actually very keen for EastEnders writers to turn him into their next Lazarus and bring him back from the dead; pronto.

"I would love for him to come back, I love Ricky," he told the Daily Star.

"Myself and Ricky have been friends for 16 years so just in terms of a friendship, I would love him to come back."

He added: “I think now, with TV in general but especially EastEnders, you always know that they will have another plan."

And now Ricky himself has addressed the rumours!

Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: "Well as an EastEnders fan myself, I know that anything can happen in the show.

"It'd be fantastic if some kind of crazy storyline happened where Fatboy rose from the dead or something.”

However he did hasten to add that, while he would love to see such a plot twist written into the script, it seems very unlikely.

“Like I say, I've done my time and I'm happy. To my knowledge, Mr Fats is dead - he's RIP!

“But, you never know with EastEnders. You never know what plots, twists and turns could happen next.”

That’s not exactly a no, is it?

He also made sure to thank his former co-star Richard Blackwood for sparking the rumours in the first place, saying: “Richard was very sweet and I thank him so much for saying what he said.

“We've been friends for a long time, so it was great to work with him on my exit storyline as well.”
